We never imagined our wedding would look like this—but somehow, it couldn’t have been more us.
On December 30, 2025, we were married in Antigua, Guatemala at Santa Isabel, surrounded not by a crowd, but by intention, history, and so much heart. With only two guests present, our day was intimate in the truest sense—quiet, emotional, and deeply meaningful.

Guatemala has always held a special place in our story. We got engaged here in 2022, and after months of planning a wedding in the United States, we made the brave (and honestly, terrifying) decision to cancel it. The expectations, the pressure, the scale—it all started to feel heavier than the joy. So we let it go. We chose Guatemala. We chose meaning over spectacle.
And it was the best decision we could have made.
Our ceremony at Santa Isabel was small but powerful. I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life—inside and out. My husband cried, and in that moment, every delay, every change of plan, every ounce of waiting felt worth it. We had waited so long for that day, and even though it wasn’t what we originally expected, it was exactly what we needed and wanted.

We were supported by an incredible team who helped bring this day to life. Our photographers, videographers, and drone operators—Walter Cameros, Julio Rodas, and Luis Castillo—captured every quiet glance, every tear, and every laugh in a way that still gives us chills. Helenna Chen, our wedding planner, guided us through the process with calm and care, even when things weren’t perfect (because no wedding ever truly is).
Hair and makeup were done by Glamour Salon, and I have never felt more like myself—just elevated, glowing, and confident. The cake, made by Stephcakes, was hands down the best cake I’ve ever had, and I will forever dream about it. Our decor and florals by Floristería Lety were stunning—soft, romantic, and perfectly suited to the historic beauty of Antigua.
After the ceremony, we took photos at the La Recolección ruins, letting the centuries-old walls witness the beginning of our marriage. Later, we did something completely unexpected and totally us—we took more photos at a colectivo bus terminal, embracing the everyday life, color, and movement of Guatemala. It felt real, unfiltered, and joyful.
Was the day perfect? No—and we expected that. Things went differently than planned. Some moments were chaotic. Some were quiet. But that’s life. That’s marriage. And that’s love.
This wedding wasn’t about perfection. It was about choosing each other, choosing our story, and honoring where it began. Guatemala gave us our engagement, and now, it gave us our marriage.
And we wouldn’t change a thing. ✨
